Re-thinking sports marketing now that fans are in charge

"According to PCMAG.com, Twitter has increased 1,382 percent last year based on research done in March. Most interestingly, the use of Twitter has played a enormous role inside sports. Hi Arlena. I hope you do not mind me contacting you, but Iam the founder of www.Sports-Buddies.com; a new (just 3 months old!) UK based sports networking community, which aims to bring people of ALL ages and ALL abilities to play the sport or other activity they love. It's a simple premise, but we are now developing Phase II, to make the site more content rich. We are therefore looking at;

Advertise your local club; whether you are a major sport centre or local village club; advertise on our site;
Advertise your event; whether you are a charity event, major event or again, a small local event; advertise on our site;
Upload sporting videos and photgraphs of sporting events; whether its your annual sports-day, annual dinner-dance/celebration/presentation night, etc;
Blog your sport; tell people about what sport/activity you love to do, AND get them involved;

With the 2012 Olympics, AND concern regarding obesity, we want this site to have an ethical edge to other sites, but your thoughts appreciated....
