Re-thinking sports marketing now that fans are in charge

Entering his 17th season with the NBA’s Phoenix Suns next month, Jeramie McPeek oversees the organization’s online initiatives, including the official team web sites for the Suns, Phoenix Mercury (WNBA) and Phoenix RoadRunners (ECHL), as well as a social network for die-hard Suns fans (PlanetOrange.net) and a unique virtual tour site (SunsLockerRoom.com).

Under his direction, Suns.com has been named the top team site in the NBA twice by the Sports Business Journal (2002, 2004) and was awarded the team Website of the Year by the NBA in 2007, while PhxRoadRunners.com was named the ECHL’s team site of the year in 2006.

In addition to his role as vice president of interactive services for the Suns, McPeek serves as "Editor at Large" for the NBA's official magazine, HOOP, and has had several hundred articles published in national magazines.

A native of Phoenix, McPeek graduated from Arizona State University in 1995 with a degree in journalism. He and his wife, Amy, have two children, Sam (7) and Abby (4).
